Onyx Solar is a global leader in manufacturing photovoltaic glass, turning buildings into energy-efficient structures
We are collaborating with Onyx Solar to supply innovative Building-integrated Photovoltaic (BiPV) modules for Atlassian Central, which is set to be the world’s tallest hybrid timber and steel building. Located adjacent to Sydney’s Central Station, this 39-storey landmark will serve as Atlassian’s Australian headquarters, anchoring the city’s new Tech Central precinct.

A state of the art BiPV solution for a new Sydney landmark
Onyx’s state of the art BiPV modules will be integral to the building’s electricity-generating facade system, which features self-shading capabilities to reduce direct heat gain. This design not only enhances energy efficiency but also significantly lowers the building’s carbon footprint.
Atlassian Central is designed to achieve a 50% reduction in carbon emissions during construction compared to conventional projects. The building will be 100% fossil fuel-free, powered entirely by renewable energy, and is targeting a 6-star Green Star rating.
We are proud to contribute to this groundbreaking project alongside the Onyx Solar, supporting Atlassian’s vision for a sustainable and innovative workspace.
