PROJECT SUMMARY
Client called due to urgent need to repair a demineralised water pit during a shutdown when removal of a pump revealed a major loss of concrete was occurring. Demineralised water can severely corrode concrete as the cement paste is dissolved rapidly if any pinholes in protective coatings allow contact between the ‘mineral-hungry‘ pure water and the porous concrete beneath. Metz’ ability to provide quick setting, corrosion resistant materials coupled with experienced, confined space trained skilled tradespeople resolved the problem quickly for our client.
