PROJECT SUMMARY
Metz were engaged to bring back to life the floor in a Chlor-Alkali plant in Botany, NSW. The floor and the bund areas were badly damaged due to exposure to chemicals used within the area.
Preparation of the floor and wall areas was the key to success on this job, mechanical grind and high-pressure water blasting was done, several times over as overnight spills would occur.
Cracks were chased out and repaired. Vertical surfaces were repaired with Metz 33EN-VG vertical grade corrosion resistant epoxy novolac render at 7mm and overcoated with Metz 4HB- EN 100% solids epoxy novolac coating.
The floor area was repaired/laid with Metz 33EN-TG corrosion resistant epoxy novolac screed at 7mm and overcoated with Metz 4HB-EN. Slip resistance of R12 was also achieved on the floor.
Metz 8 chemical resistant caulking was used on all the joints to allow for movement.
